Aidil Ortiz Hill
Aidil Ortiz Hill, the Health Improvement program officer for central North Carolina, joined the Trust in June 2016. As a program officer, she works closely with stakeholders, grantees and community members to improve community health and help the Trust achieve its long-term goals of better health and quality of life for all North Carolinians. Additionally, she oversees the Trust’s Healthy Places NC work in Halifax, Rockingham, Edgecombe and Nash counties.
Prior to working with the Trust, Aidil cultivated over 15 years of experience working with youth and young adults in various settings, particularly through her work with Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!), a nonprofit organization that works in North Carolina and around the country to empower youth to create community change. As co-founder of YES! and team lead for their Substance Abuse Prevention work, Aidil successfully worked with youth to pass policies that protect their health and to prevent policies that would impact them negatively.
Aidil holds a master’s degree in counseling from North Carolina Central University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Aidil’s extensive career living and working in North Carolina has been motivated by her love for the state’s legendary hospitality as well as its local and emerging art scene. She resides in Durham.
