Meeting with Program Staff

Program staff of both the Health Care and Poor and Needy divisions of the Trust are committed to staying in touch with nonprofits across the state. We are available to meet for consultation with prospective applicants and members of the community to work on issues that align well with the priorities and areas of emphasis that relate to improving quality of life and quality of health for financially needy North Carolinians.

Poor and Needy Division - Winston-Salem/Forsyth County only:

To schedule a meeting regarding programs that benefit the financially needy of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, please contact Joyce Adger, Director of the Poor and Needy Division, by calling 336-397-5503.

Health Care Division - Statewide:

Program officers of the Health Care Division welcome meetings for any of the following topics:

  • To determine whether an agency's programming falls within Trust funding guidelines.
  • To discuss funding for a specific program. These meetings may serve as the first step in the two-step application process.
  • To discuss community resources, programs, and local health care issues, particularly those that involve collaborative efforts to address community needs.

To facilitate scheduling, Trust Program Officers have dedicated days each year to travel to 16 locations statewide to meet with agency representatives. Meetings may be held in these locations on pre-scheduled dates; however, meetings are not limited to these locations.

To discuss the most convenient time and place for meeting with a Program Officer, call the Trust's designated meeting line at 1-866-551-0690 to speak with Shinika McKiever, the Program Assistant. She will direct you to the appropriate Program Officer. Click here to view the Trust's regional map.

Together, you and your Program Officer will determine whether a face-to-face meeting is most appropriate or a telephone conversation is sufficient. You can compare schedules to plan your meeting in one of the already scheduled remote locations OR at your agency OR at the Trust office in Winston-Salem.

Flexibility and accessibility are our goals. Meetings will be arranged to accommodate your needs and to meet grant application deadlines.
